Star shooter Manu Bhaker has etched her name in Olympic history, becoming India’s flag bearer during the closing ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympics. The 22-year-old achieved this honour by clinching two bronze medals in shooting at the Games.

Manu opened India’s medal tally by winning a bronze medal in the women’s 10m air pistol event. She continued her remarkable performance, securing another bronze in the 10m air pistol mixed team event alongside Sarabjot Singh. Her achievements mark her as one of the few athletes to win two medals in a single edition of the Olympics.
An official from the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) praised Manu for her outstanding performance in the Paris Olympics. Manu expressed her gratitude and stated that she was honoured to carry the Indian flag during the closing ceremony.
“There are many in the contingent who are more deserving but it will be a real honour, if I am asked to,” Manu had told PTI.
Manu joins an elite list that includes athletes like PV Sindhu and Norman Pritchard, who have also won multiple medals in the Olympics. Her achievements exemplify India’s growing prowess in the sporting arena.
