Renowned Indian cricketer Dinesh Karthik added another feather to his cap by trying his hand at the javelin throw. This endeavour was not a solitary one, as he was guided by none other than India’s golden boy, Neeraj Chopra, the Olympic gold medalist in javelin throw.
Karthik, who has showcased his proficiency as a finisher, wicketkeeper, and commentator, demonstrated his all-round abilities by venturing into a new sport. This experience came after a rigorous season of IPL 2024, where he played 15 matches for Royal Challengers Bangalore and scored 326 runs, including two half-centuries.

The training session with Chopra was part of Karthik’s preparation for hosting a talk show titled ‘Get Set Gold’ for the Paris Olympics 2024. The show aims to delve into athletes’ personal stories, the setbacks they faced, and their journey to Olympic success. It will feature other prominent athletes like Nikhat Zareen, Chirag Shetty, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy, and PR Sreejesh.
Karthik’s interaction with these athletes, including Chopra, allowed him to understand their challenges en route to Olympic success. He expressed his admiration for their dedication, discipline, relentless pursuit of excellence, and unwavering commitment to their dreams.
