Liverpool went through to the next round of the UEFA Champions League. Napoli were beaten by the Reds at the Anfield with a margin of 1-0. However, one challenge of Van Dijk on Dries Mertens in that match. For the spectators, it was a clear red; but somehow the referee showed only an yellow card for that challenge.

The spectators’ reaction after the challenge :
“Wait, Van Dijk didn’t get a red for this?! How the hell??? Klopp’s complaining in advance about referees had its reward.”
“He fully and wholeheartedly took the ball. Unfortunately caught on the follow through! It’s not malicious in anyway. Veratti’s was significantly worse vs LFC and it was ignored,”“He’s in control and doesn’t use excessive force.”
“One footed, got the ball, momentum took the man. Get up get and on with it.”
“I don’t think it’s red tbh, he takes the ball cleanly with no intent of hurting the man, I think the contact is unfortunate.”
