Notably, Bommadevara had already secured a Paris 2024 Olympics quota, making this bronze medal even more significant. His consistent form and determination were evident throughout the tournament.

Prior to the bronze medal match, Dhiraj faced a tough challenge in the semi-finals against Korea’s Kim Woojin, ultimately falling short with a 6-2 defeat. Nevertheless, his resilience shone through.

In the mixed recurve team event, Dhiraj partnered with Bhajan Kaur to defeat the Mexican duo of Alejandra Valencia and Matias Grande, securing another bronze medal for India.

The Indian women’s compound team, comprising Jyothi Surekha Vennam, Parneet Kaur, and Aditi Gopichand Swami, clinched a gold medal in the same tournament. India’s archers have been making their mark on the global stage.

With this World Cup stage being the final event for recurve archers before the Paris 2024 Olympics qualifying period concludes, Dhiraj’s performance adds to India’s hopes for Olympic glory.

India was the top-most team in stage one of the competition held in Shanghai, securing eight medals, including five gold medals, two silver and one bronze. In the second stage of the competition at Yecheon, India secured two medals, including a gold by the women’s compound team and a silver by the mixed compound team.

The World Cup stage three will be the final event for recurve archers before the qualifying period for the Paris 2024 Olympics ends. Stage three will also be the final World Cup stage of 2024 before the World Cup final to be held in Mexico in October.
