The Raheem Sterling vs Joe Gomez feud- what started as an on field taunt in Sunday’s clash between Manchester City and Liverpool, should have ended soon after, as these incidents happen in a regular basis in the beautiful game. But, the situation has taken a turn for the worse, as Sterling is now accused for physically attacking his compatriot!
‘Don’t f*** with me’ is what Sterling told the Liverpool center back, as Guardiola’s boys suffered a 3-1 humiliation against the league toppers at Anfield. And now, prior to England’s 2020 Euro qualifier match versus Montenegro, Gomez was attacked by the Citizens winger in the training ground canteen, leaving a scratch on the 22 year old defender’s face.
According to sources from the Mirror, Sterling didn’t take Gomez’s peacful gesture of a handshake peacefully, and told “So you think you’re the big man?” and tried to choke Gomez, causing a mess in the canteen in the process.
The incident has left a scar on Gomez,s face, as shared on Twitter by GiveMeSport.

Sterling is now disbanded from the England squad by Gareth Southgate as his team takes on Montenegro tomorrow at Wembley. Following the incident, the player has apologized on social media, and made an assurance on a restoration of friendship with Gomez. However, the 24 year old may have to face further trials for the incident.
England are topping the group A, and after the Montenegro game will face Kosovo, where Sterling is expected to return.
