Indian wrestler, Deepak Punia, who was the second seed went up against third seed Myles Amine in the 86 Kg freestyle category in the ongoing Tokyo Olympics. The Indian was hopeful of winning the bronze medal after crashing out of the Semis against David Taylor.
The 22-year-old Punia could not emerge victorious and relinquished the opportunity to capture the Bronze Medal against the San Marino wrestler.

Deepak as usual started slow with his game and was able to sustain the first attack of Myles Amine with his brilliant defense. In the first round, Punia came up with a huge takedown to lead 2-0.
They went into the second round with Punia having a lead of a single point. Myles Amine was continuously going for leg attacks but Punia kept on holding up with his defense.
It was quite a thrilling battle but the Indian went on to lose the bronze medal in the final ten seconds of the fight.
