The Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) has unveiled an exciting addition to the cricketing landscape: the Delhi Premier League (DPL). With a vision to provide equal opportunities for both male and female cricketers, this inaugural league promises thrilling T20 action in the heart of India.
All you need to know about Delhi Premier League
The DPL will feature a franchise-based model, akin to other successful T20 leagues worldwide. Six teams each for men and women will battle it out under a round-robin format during each season.
The DDCA has released a ‘Notice Inviting Tender’ (NIT), inviting potential bidders to own team franchises. Interested parties must submit their bids by July 15. The minimum bid stands at Rs 25,00,000 (twenty-five lakh).
The league is set to kick off in August/September 2024. Cricket enthusiasts can look forward to witnessing top talent competing fiercely on the field.
The DPL aims to promote gender equality in cricket. Alongside the six men’s teams, there will be an equal number of women’s teams. This inclusive approach reflects the DDCA’s commitment to nurturing talent across genders.
Delhi cricket will now be reaching its epitome as DDCA is gonna be making Delhi Premier League a reality now😍

As cricket enthusiasts eagerly await the DPL’s debut, it symbolizes a fresh chapter in Delhi’s cricketing journey. From thrilling matches to emerging stars, the league promises excitement, drama, and the spirit of competition.
