The star Brazilian defender of Chelsea, David Luiz is all set to leave Stamford Bridge after the end of the season. Maurizio Sarri desperately wished this centre back to stay at Stamford Bridge for the next season.
Chelsea Board have their own rule to give the contract extension by one year to the 30 year plus footballers. However, David Luiz wished to have more than one year in his contract extension. So, it is seeming that David Luiz may leave Chelsea in the next summer transfer window for free.
When Maurizio Sarri was asked about thot situation, he told,
“I spoke with the club about this one month ago. I know very well that it’s not easy, but I think we can do a new deal for both.
“They are very important players for us. It is very difficult to find a centre-back for this level and it is very difficult to find a centre-midfielder technically like Fabregas, so I think they have to stay with us.”
David Luiz is an integral part of Chelsea’s lineup in Maurizio Sarri’s management. The Brazilian centre back builds up the attacks from the back. His passing accuracy is certainly better than any other centre back in the squad. However, Chelsea club management are looking adamant in this situation.
