World Championships silver medallist Bajrang Punia started his international season with a bang as he humbled USA’s Jordan Oliver 12-3 in the final of the 69kg freestyle category on Saturday. By doing so, he attained the pole position and maximum ranking points from the tournament. This tournament is also a part of the ranking series of United World Wrestling. The 25-year-old tweeted that he wanted to dedicate this win to IAF Pilot Abhinandan.

Earlier in the competition, Pooja Dhanda clinched the gold medal whereas Sakshi Malik won the silver medal in the 59kg and 65kg respectively. Sandeep Tomar, too, won a silver medal in the men’s freestyle 61kg event.
Sarita Mor in the 59kg women’s freestyle event and Vinesh Phogat in the 50kg women’s freestyle event were some other events where India won the silver medal.
