Dale Steyn, the legendary South African fast bowler, has made a bold prediction about his countryman Marco Jansen ahead of the upcoming IPL 2025 mega auction. Steyn believes that Jansen, who recently showcased his all-round abilities in the T20I series against India, could fetch a whopping ₹10 crore at the auction.

Marco Jansen’s recent Performance

In the third T20I against India, Jansen delivered a stunning performance, scoring 54 off just 17 balls, the second-fastest T20I fifty for South Africa. His aggressive batting, which included four fours and five sixes, put immense pressure on the Indian team. Despite his heroics, South Africa fell short by 11 runs.

Steyn’s Prediction

Taking to social media, Steyn wrote, “Marco Jansen. A 10-crore player? I’d say so.” This prediction comes after Jansen was released by Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) ahead of the auction. His recent performances have significantly boosted his stock, making him a hot property for the franchises.

Auction Details

The IPL 2025 mega auction is scheduled to be held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on November 24-25. A total of 1,574 players have registered for the auction, with 409 from overseas. South Africa has the highest number of registered players, with 91 cricketers set to enter the auction.

Jansen played for the Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad in previous IPL seasons. While he had limited opportunities at MI, he played 19 games for SRH, taking 18 wickets. His recent performances have highlighted his potential as a valuable all-rounder, capable of contributing with both bat and ball.
