Started in London, the Race to Rugby World Cup 2019™ will end in Tokyo
DHL is the tournament’s Official Logistics Partner and will support these cyclists on this extreme expedition
Journey aims to raise funds and create awareness for children and young people from disadvantaged communities in Asia
Cyclists Ron Rutland and James Owens have arrived in Chandigarh as part of their Race to Rugby World Cup 2019™. This unique initiative is aimed at providing disadvantaged children and young people in Asia an opportunity to participate in sports and learn vital life skills through rugby for development program ChildFund Pass It Back. As the official logistics partner for Rugby World Cup, DHL is providing essential support to these cyclists in their extreme journey, as part of which the cyclists have undertaken an ambitious quest to cycle 20,093 km across Europe and Asia.

Cyclists started their quest from the Twickenham Stadium in London on February 02, 2019 and will conclude in Tokyo on September 19, 2019 ahead of the opening match of Rugby World Cup 2019™ – played between Japan and Russia. DHL is managing the transportation of the Tournament and team equipment from around the world to Japan and across the country.
The duo will deliver the official match whistle all the way to Tokyo Stadium for the opening of Rugby World Cup 2019™. DHL is tracking the whistle through each of the 27 countries, giving access to the fans to follow the countdown to Rugby World Cup 2019™ from www.racetorwc.com.
