Team India’s semi-final defeat may set shockwaves across the Indian cricket ripple by ripple as the court-appointed CoA are set to review the tournament with the skipper Virat Kohli and coach Ravi Shastri.

The meeting is scheduled to take place once the figures return to India after a lengthy overseas outing. Chairman of the committee Vinod Rai confirmed the legitimacy of the meeting while denying to reveal the date and place for the same. He said:
“We will certainly have a review meeting once the coach and the captain are back from their breaks. I will not put a date and time but we will speak to them,”
The chairman also confirmed that the entire CoA team which also comprises of Diana Edulji and Lt Gen (Retd) Ravi Thodge will have a talk with the selectors over the future of the Indian team. He added:
Also, we will speak to the selection committee head on road ahead,”
The CoA are aiming to attain answers to three major questions. Firstly, they want to hear why Ambati Rayudu was entrusted with the task of the No.4 position till the last series when the management was unsure about his capabilities.
Secondly, the second issue is the inclusion of Dinesh Karthik as to why there was a third wicketkeeper in the side with two keepers already present. Moreover, Karthik has not performed in ODIs for quite some time now.
Thirdly, the committee wants to know as to why was MS Dhoni dropped to No.7, when clearly the side needed him desperately to be in the middle after an early collapse in the semi-final clash against New Zealand.
