David Warner’s second century set the Aussies a tone for a huge first innings total which proved to be too much for the Bangladesh batting line-up in the end. Australia are now once again at the top of the table with 10 points.

The odd dimensions and the relatively flat pitch at Trent Bridge, Nottingham was more than enough to prompt Aaron Finch into batting first. The Aussie skipper named three changes with Adam Zampa, Nathan Coulter-Nile, and Marcus Stoinis in place of Jason Behrendorff, Shaun Marsh and Kane Richardson.

David Warner and Aaron Finch continued their good form with yet another century stand. While the captain fell after a soft dismissal, Warner carried on with Usman Khawaja. The former vice-captain brought up his 2nd century of the tournament. Khawaja, was however, unlucky having missed out on a ton by 11 runs.

Maxwell sprung up with an explosive cameo of 32 off just 10 balls in the end to propel the Men In Yellow to 381-5.

A huge mix-up meant that Soumya Sarkar’s outing was cut short. Tamim Iqbal stuck in to bring up a crucial fifty to his name while the in-form Shakib Al Hasan scored 41.

Former skipper Mushfiqur Rahim gave the bowlers a run for their money by scoring an impressive ton. Mahmudullah made his presence felt as well with a finely struck half-century.

Bangladesh clearly showed their resiliency and the huge target did not set them back to score their highest total against the Aussies. Despite their tournament nearing an unfortunate end, the Tigers have done more than enough to make their fans proud.
