Vidyut Sivaramakrishnan’s cricketing journey

Vidyut Sivaramakrishnan, born on December 3, 1981, in Madras (now Chennai), Tamil Nadu, has had an illustrious career in cricket. He is a left-hand batsman and a slow left-arm orthodox bowler. His father, Venkataraman Sivaramakrishnan, was a former Tamil Nadu opening batsman. Vidyut’s cricketing journey has seen him play for teams like Chennai Super Kings, Haryana, and Rajasthan Cricket Association President’s XI.

Vidyut’s most significant achievement was representing the Chennai Super Kings in the inaugural edition of the IPL in 2008. He played alongside MS Dhoni and other top international players. However, he was never preferred again, and soon after, Vidyut also decided to quit domestic cricket.

Now, Vidyut is back with CSK, but this time in a different role. He has joined CSK as a talent scout for a one-year term. In addition to scouting for talent, Vidyut will also serve as a high-performance coach for the Super Kings Academies.

This move is significant for CSK as they prepare for the mega auction (IPL player auction) next year. Vidyut’s role will be to identify potential players who could perform well for CSK in the future. He will be attending various T20 tournaments throughout the year, watching matches, and providing reports on promising players.

Vidyut’s experience and understanding of the game will undoubtedly be beneficial for CSK. His insights could help the team identify and nurture new talent, thereby strengthening the team’s performance in the coming years.
