In the death overs, KKR opted for their resources of the spinners with Varun Chakravarthy and Sunil Narine in the attack. CSK management decided to send in Jadhav, who usually plays the spinner well and Jadeja to finish the game.

Kedar Jadhav came on to the pitch after the dismissal of MS Dhoni when the team needed 39 runs off 21 balls. But he only managed to get seven runs on the board off twelve balls, with KKR successfully defending their 167 runs and emerging victorious by ten runs.

During the press conference, Stephen Fleming explained, “At the time, we were hoping that Kedar could play the off-spinner well and dominate that area and also Jadeja as well to come and finish. But too much work to do and we got left short.”

He spoke on CSK having much of batting resources. However, the plan did not work out. The former Kiwi player said, “It comes down to the batting resource, we have got so much of batting resources. Kedar is a middle to late order batter for India. We could have gone a whole lot of different ways. Today Kedar had some balls, it didn’t work out.”

Following, Jadhav’s disappointing performance and the loss against KKR, he was trolled heavily on social media.

CSK head coach said that KKR were able to put pressure on them and they are disappointed to let it slip.

Suresh Raina, the former CSK batsman’s absence was felt in the middle order but Stephen Fleming claims his team to be well balanced.

CSK bowled out KKR at 167 runs on the board. Pacers Shardul Thakur and Sam Curran both picked up two wickets each. Spinner Karn Sharma, who replaced Piyush Chawla also bagged two dismissals.

While chasing the runs, Aussie batsman scored a half-century in the yellow outfit. However, in the middle overs, the batting performance slumped and they surrendered their victory to KKR.
