Wasim Jaffer feels that Indian cricket needs a change in captaincy with the former India batsman backing Rohit Sharma to take over the reins and lead the nation for the next World Cup.

India cricket is undergoing a tumultuous time with their semi-final exit leading to a potential inquisition. Virat Kohli and Ravi Shastri are set to be questioned by the Supreme Court appointed CoA regarding the questionable decisions taken over the course of the World Cup.

One of India’s leading run-machines in the domestic circuit Wasim Jaffer thinks that Virat Kohli should be relieved of his duties as captain of the white ball formats with Rohit Sharma stepping in place of him.

The former Mumbai batsman tweeted stating his desire to see a change in captaincy in time for the 2023 World Cup which is set to be contested in India. Check out his tweet below:

“Is it time to hand over white ball captaincy to Rohit Sharma? I would like him to lead India in the 2023 World Cup🏆”

Rohit Sharma has led India before in the white ball format with his crowning achievement being the 2018 Asia Cup triumph. The No.2 ranked batsman is currently the deputy in the limited overs team.
