Wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant is speculated to be called up to the national squad for the ODI series against the West Indies. The series, slated to begin at Guwahati on October 21, will comprise of 5 One Day Internationals.
Pant has been on a rich run of form lately after initial struggles against England. The Delhi Daredevils ace ended up scoring his debut century in his last innings in England, he continued his batting exploits with a quickfire 92 in India’s victorious effort against West Indies at Rajkot.
The BCCI selection committee will announce the squad for the 5-match ODI series when they meet in Hyderabad on Thursday. Dinesh Karthik is expecting to be the name to pave way for Pant in the squad. While the Tamil Nadu batsman has fared well with the bat in the Asia Cup, the knack of not converting the 30s and 40s into big scores has not boded with the board well.
Selection of Pant in the squad will mark the experimentation process as the Men In Blue look to find the balanced lineup for the highly anticipated World Cup in 2019.
