Joe Root is an English international cricketer, who plays for the English cricket team, and formerly captained the Test team. He is seen as one of the best batsmen of our time. He represents Yorkshire in domestic cricket as well.
He is the leading run-scorer among active batsmen at the time of writing.
Joe Root made his test debut in 2012, as well as his ODI debut in 2013. He also played for England’s Twenty20 International team from 2012 until 2019. He captained the Test team for England from 2017 February until April 2022, holding the record for the most Test matches, wins, and losses as an England captain.
He is a right-handed batsman. He also originally played as an opener, however, he played the vast majority of his career with England in the middle order.
Being Alastair Cook he is the next best run-scorer in Tests, and behind Eoin Morgan is also the second-highest run-scorer in ODI’s!

Joe Root is 32 years old, and is right-handed, playing with a right arm off-break when he bowls. He has played for England since 2012, doing his Test debut on the 13th of December against India.
Domestically he has played for 5 teams, playing for Yorkshire since 2009, Sydney Thunder in 2018/2019, the Trent Rockets since 2021, the Dubai Capitals since 2023, and the Rajasthan Royals since 2023.
