Kolkata Knight Riders’ young speed guns Kamlesh Nagarkoti and Shivam Mavi have been ruled out of the entire IPL season owing to injury.
The two-time IPL winners focused on bringing in young players last time around in the auctions and one of the biggest names that they managed to rope in was Kamlesh Nagarkoti. The U-19 World Cup winner bedazzled one and all with his ability to bowl at 150 kmph on a consistent basis.
Having missed the tournament last year, the fast bowler will, unfortunately, miss out on this edition as well with his injury requiring two more months to recover.
Meanwhile Shivam Mavi, who managed to perform well during the franchise’s injury crisis last season will also miss out this edition after suffering from a stress fracture in his back which will keep him out for 6 months.
The franchise have roped in Sandeep Warrier as a replacement, who was the leading wicket-taker for Kerala in the recently concluded Ranji Trophy. The pacer was part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore camp for 3 years, but failed to get a game.
the other potential fast bowling options for the team include Prashidh Krishna, Lockie Ferguson, Andre Russel and Harry Gurney.
