Cricket: CoA approved a hike in the fee of Indian Selectors by 30 Lakhs

The Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrator (CoA) accepted a hike in the fee for the selectors by Rs 30 Lakhs and that of the chief selector by 20 Lakhs. It was approved that the remuneration of the members of the selection committee be increased to Rs 90 Lakhs per annum from Rs 60 Lakhs per annum, whereas the chairmen of the panel will now get Rs 1 Cr who used to get Rs 80 Lakhs per annum.

Currently, MSK Prasad, the former Indian Wicketkeeper is the head of the senior selection committee with Devang Gandhi and Sarandeep Singh being the two other members. Meanwhile, the remuneration of the junior selection committee has been increased to Rs 60 Lakhs per annum, with the chairman of the panel now drawing a salary of Rs 65 Lakhs per annum.

The salary of the women selectors have also been increased to Rs 25 Lakhs per annum and the chief selector is set to receive 30 Lakhs per annum. Finally, after battling for a decade, the ‘wise men’ of Indian Cricket get their demanded raise in salary.
