Guyana Amazon Warriors

Even though they haven’t been CPL champions yet, Guyana Amazon Warriors performed superbly in the last season, and became the runners up, losing to Barbados Tridents in the final.

GAW has a star studded lineup, including the Windies youngster Brandon King, who scored the highest runs last season, with 496 runs from 12 matches. The team also has Shimron Hetmyer, Ross Taylor and Imran Tahir. Australian all rounder Chris Green has been chosen to lead the squad for CPL 2020.

Full squad: Brandon King, Ross Taylor, Shimron Hetmyer, Imran Tahir, Nicholas Pooran, Chris Green (c), Keemo Paul, Sherfane Rutherford, Romario Shepherd, Naveen-ul-Haq, Chandrapul Hemraj, Kevin Sinclair, Ashmeade Nedd, Odean Smith, Anthony Bramble, Jasdeeo Singh, Kissoondath Magram.

Waging odds: Trinbago Knight Riders (1.99) vs Guyana Amazon Warriors (2)

The three time champions Trinbago Knight Riders are the waging favourites, and are priced at 1.99, meaning if you bet ₹100 on them and if they win tomorrow’s match, you’ll be making ₹199.

Coming off as the runners up of last season, Guyana Amazon Warriors are priced at 2, and are the underdogs. Betting ₹100 on them will earn you a clean ₹200, if they snatch a victory in the match tomorrow.

Our prediction:

The match is appearing to be a close call, considering the last season’s runners up are going against the three time champions. With the presence of run machines like King and Hetmyer, in addition to Tahir leading the bowling squad, Warriors will put up a tough fight.

However, being champions three times, and having a star studded batting squad including Simmons and Munro, plus the superstar all rounders like Pollard, Bravo and Narine at their disposal, Trinbago Knight Riders will come out as the winners of the first CPL 2020 match tomorrow.
