The 26-year-old was no match for the world number 2, who went on to decimate the Indian and finish the game by a comfortable scoreline of 21-12, 21-10 in just 30 minutes.

While Sourabh initially had a 2-0 lead in the head to head meetings, it meant nothing much as their previous meeting dated back to 2014. It was evident that in these five years, the local lad and the tournament favorite had developed immensely and was currently on top of his game.

Chen saw himself take an early lead and go into the first game break with a 11-5 lead. He then kept on stacking up the points and never broke a sweat.

In the second game, Sourabh showed a glimmer of hope after he took the early lead. But it wasn’t too long before Chen got going once again to clinch the match in straight games.

Sourabh will next be seen featuring in the Vietnam Open Super 100, which begins next week.
