Rafael Benitez is one of the most elite tacticians in this age of football managers. After a brilliant spell at Newcastle United which saw Benitez bring Newcastle from the second division, Chinese Super League sides are planning to bring the manager to China.
So far Benitez has not signed a contract extension at Newcastle which means he is a free agent by the end of June.
The Spaniard is also linked with a move to succeed Maurizio Sarri at Chelsea.
Benitez remains one of the favourites to replace Sarri but Frank Lampard is the overwhelming favourite for the job.
Rafa Benitez won the Europa League in his time at Chelsea and the Champions League for Liverpool in 2005 which is considered arguably the greatest comeback in football history.
Dalian Yifang, the Chinese club vying for Benitez’s signature have won only three of their 13 league games so far this season under South Korean coach Choi Kang-hee.
Perhaps the Spaniard could take up the project and bring Dalian amongst Chinese elites.
