The Saga continues in Vinesh Phogat’s case
Vinesh Phogat was disqualified from the gold-medal bout due to exceeding the weight limit by a mere 100 grams. Seeking justice, Vinesh appealed to the CAS, hoping to be awarded a joint silver medal. Her case revolves around the contention that the disqualification was unjust.
The CAS ad hoc committee has extended the time limit for the panel to give a decision until August 16, 2024, at 6:00 PM (Paris time). This delay allows for further consideration and evaluation.
Earlier, the Ad-Hoc Division of CAS said it would announce its decision on wrestler Phogat’s case at 6:00 pm (9:30 pm IST) on Saturday, August 10.
