The usage of animals to predict results in sports has been a long running trend, From using ‘Paul the Octopus’, ‘Shaheen the Camel’, ‘Achilles the Cat’ to predict fixture results in FIFA World Cups, to the several animal predictors present in Super Bowl games. Cut back to Germany, where the Bundesliga is stocking up in pecularity, the table toppers Borussia Mönchengladbach have their own prognosticator seen in a video- a Dolphin!
Well, its just an edited video. Gladbach has been very upfront on publicizing their position in the German top flight, and their social media team has also been working. They have released a video yesterday with the caption “It doesn’t take the world’s smartest animal to tell you who’s top of the Bundesliga” with a Dolphin nodding to the club’s crest, while denying the other Bundesliga elites. Creative work. Check it out on the club’s official Twitter-
It doesn't take the world's smartest animal to tell you who's top of the Bundesliga. Yet here it is… 🐬#DieFohlen pic.twitter.com/PS2sXhnBP2

The original video was of a dolphin choosing its food. After rejecting some junk foods, it agrees to seeing a fish. The editors put the club’s crest on the fish, while putting the crests of Bayern, RB Leipzig and Dortmund on the fast foods.
However, Die Fohlen have all the rights to celebrate. After failing to secure a Champions League finish for three consecutive years, Marco Rose and his boys are right on top of the table this season, with 22 points from 10 matches, 3 points ahead of Dortmund. A spot that would have been secured by the usual leaders Bayern, who are now down struggling in fourth, Mönchengladbach are rightfully expecting the trophy since their last one back in 1977.
