Antoine Griezmann, the superstar forward of La Liga heavyweights FC Barcelona is well known for his love and passion for gaming, from performing the famous ‘Take the L’ dance from FortNite to posting his Football Manager achievements on social media. However, in one instance, he was caught cheating, and got himself banned, as former EA Sports community manager Chukwuma Morah reveals.
Going by his online alias ”Chu Boi’, Morah tweeted on Griezmann’s slip-up in the FIFA 15 Ultimate Team game mode, where the 28 year old French international was caught purchasing FUT coins using illegal methods, and that got his account banned back in 2014.
“True story. We once banned Griezmann’s account for coin buying. Dude called the French office so upset and we gave him the players back”. Morah, who now works as an eSports host and influencer for Manchester United, wrote on Twitter.
Griezmann, who arrived at Camp Nou from Atlético Madrid this transfer window, was still with his boyhood club Real Sociedad back then before coming to the Spanish capital.
However, after a ton of backlash from fans and fellow FIFA players after restoring Griezmann’s account back, Morah revealed the player lost all the illegally added coins.
“For everyone getting mad: he didn’t get his coins back if it makes you feel any better” he added.
