“Wales, Golf , Madrid- in that order” is the phrase that turned Gareth Bale from a fan favourite to the bête noire at Santiago Bernabéu. The Welshman’s flag celebration incident after qualifying for Euro 2020 has made himself into a subject of slack from the Real Madrid fanbase and the Spanish media. A prompt expression was seen from the stands in the Real Sociedad match last week, but the Galactico took it like a champ.

Bale was subbed in for the youngster Rodrygo in the 67th minute as Real faced Sociedad at home last Sunday. As the forward was warming up in the sidelines, the supporters started loudly jeering and whistling at him. However, the Welsh international didn’t throw a fit, and chuckled it off and continued his pre-sub warm up drill.

Along with the taunts, the fans even made a banner for themselves with: “Rodrygo. Vini. Lucas. Bale. In that order” written on it.
Los Blancos gaffer Zinedine Zidane reprimanded the action of the fans, as he spoke in the post match conference.
“There is too much noise with Bale, he wants to be here and do as well as he can, that’s why we don’t want to talk too much about this.” he told reporters.
“I hope this doesn’t carry on for the rest of the season. We want the fans to be with us from the beginning to the end but we can’t control this.” Zidane added.
