Brazil Para-Badminton International: Pramod Bhagat, Sukant Kadam Secure Semifinal Berths

Indian shuttling stars Pramod Bhagat and Sukant Kadam have sailed into the semifinal round of the ongoing Brazil Para-Badminton International 2023 currently taking place in Sao Paulo.

Bhagat, the Padma Shree awardee and World No. 4 Kadam, both have secured their spots in the men’s singles semifinal, and the pair have also reached the last four contentions in the men’s doubles.

In the quarterfinals, Bhagat dominated Pedro Pablo De Vinatea in straight games, defeating the Peruvial shuttler 21-7, 21-12 within just 30 minutes. His next opponent will be Japanese Daisuke Fujihara.

Kadam, meanwhile, faced off against his compatriot Suhas Lalinakere Yathiraj in the last eights. In a hard fought clash, both shuttlers displayed excellent performance but it was Kadam who edged out in the end with a 29-27, 11-21 and 21-17 margin.

Meanwhile as pairs, the Bhagat-Kadam duo defeated De Vinatea along with Renzo Diquez Bances Morales in the doubles, defeating them 21-10 and 21-14 in just 25 minutes. Their semifinal clash will be against their fellow Indian pair of Kumar Nitesh and Tarun.

The Brazil Para-Badminton International 2023 is taking place in Sao Paulo from 10th to 16th of April.
