Bhavinaben lost the first set but made a surging comeback to win the next two. She lost the fourth set, sending the game into the final tie-breaking set where she prevailed. The contested ended 7-11, 11-7, 11-4, 9-11, and 11-8.

With a medal assured, Bhavinaben will look to win the gold in the final, where she is up against world number one Ying Zhou from China. The gold medal match will take place tomorrow.

She did not have the best of starts to her maiden Paralympics campaign after losing her first match. But she has not looked back since and secured a medal by clinching her quarter-final clash against 2016 Rio Paralympics gold winner and world number two Borislava Peric Rankovic of Serbia.
