Gunners star Héctor Bellerín is choosing to stay at Arsenal this summer, despite interests from Atlético Madrid.
According to football.london, the Spanish right-back has made no indications on a spell away from London. Currently on holiday, Bellerín is focused on recovering from the knee injury that caused him to remain at bench in the twilight of last season.
Although the 24-year-old previously considered a return to Camp Nou, the Gunners’ fan favourite wingback gave no symptoms of looking to move away from Arsenal this summer, along with having four years of contract remaining.
The Rojiblancos are looking for a right-back this summer, and having been linked with Barcelona’s Nelson Semedo and Napoli’s Elseid Hysaj, Diego Simeone is believed to have Bellerín on the club’s target list.
However, Atlético needs to make a handsome offer to push Arsenal to even consider selling Bellerín. Simeone’s reported offer of a swap with Vitolo, which would not be favourable for the London club, given that the 29-year old scored 0 goals and just 1 assist in 20 la Liga games last season.
Gunners boss Unai Emery has always held a high esteem for Bellerín, who in recent times made the most of his time away from the field, such as catwalking at a Louis Vuitton show at the Paris Fashion Week in early June.
The player wrote in his Instagram feed: “Don’t let them tell you, it’s not possible,”
“Thank you to Virgil Abloh & Louis Vuitton for the opportunity.”
