Jhulaniya after having a meeting with BCCI CEO Rahul Johri, said that the board has given in writing that it is ready to come under NADA.

“All cricketers will now be tested by NADA. The BCCI raised three issues before us about the quality of the dope testing kits, competence of pathologists and sample collection. We assured them that whatever facilities they want, we will provide but there will be some charge for it. BCCI is no different from others,” said Jhulaniya.

It is to be noted that the BCCI was against coming under NADA and stated that they were an anonymous body and didn’t depend on the government funds. In March 2019 however, the board agreed upon to come under NADA as a trail for 6 months following the decision collectively taken by both BCCI officers and CoA.

The ICC had however regularly insisted the BCCI to come under NADA and also pointed out that it had a lot of pressure coming from World Anti Doing Agency (WADA). With the board until today refusing to oblige to ICC utilised IDTM (International Doping Tests & Management) – the Stockholm based anti-doping service agency to test its cricketers.
