Right now the Indian cricket team players are participating in the cash-rich Indian Premier League in their home country. The IPL will last till 12th May and immediately after the league is over, the team will depart for England.

However, to boost the confidence of the players BCCI has allowed families of the Indian cricketers to join them during the ICC world cup to be played in England and Wales for the first 20 to 30 days but they would have to return of the team reaches the final.

According to the New Indian Express, the team management has been pampering to the cricket board to allow wives and girlfriends (WAGS) of the players to join the Indian team for the entire tour for more than a year, but BCCI never sanctioned it and only allowed the wife and girlfriends to join them for some portion of the tour.

Earlier BCCI had also said that arranging travelling and lodging for the families caused a logistical nightmare for the organisation.
