Baseball United, the first professional baseball league focused on the Middle East and Indian Subcontinent, made a significant announcement. Four-time Major League Baseball All-Star and Most Valuable Player, Ronald Acuña Jr., has joined its investment and ownership group. This move marks a significant milestone in the history of Baseball United.

Baseball United signs Ronald Acuna Jr

Acuña, who is recognized as the premier athlete in baseball by MLB Network, now holds the distinction of being the youngest and most prominent active player to join the ownership group of this new league.

At just 26, the Atlanta Braves superstar showcased his exceptional skills by hitting 41 home runs and stealing 73 bases, becoming the first player in MLB history to achieve a 40-70 season. Additionally, he also hit .337 while leading the league in ten key statistical categories, including hits (217), runs (149), total bases (383) and on-base percentage (.416).

The addition of Acuña to the ownership group signifies the league’s ambition and potential. Acuña joins 19 other MLB legends within Baseball United’s ownership group, including Hall of Famers Barry Larkin, Mariano Rivera, and Adrián Beltré, and icons like Albert Pujols, Robinson Cano, and Bartolo Colón. This star-studded ownership group is a clear indication of the league’s commitment to bringing professional baseball to the Middle East and Indian Subcontinent.

The league made its debut in Dubai last November with an inaugural All-Star Showcase event, marking the first-ever professional baseball games in the region’s history. This event was televised in 127 countries and reached 200 million households, demonstrating the global appeal of the sport and the potential of Baseball United to expand its reach.

Acuña’s investment in Baseball United is not just a business move; it’s a statement to spread the game in the subcontinent. “I am truly grateful to join the Baseball United family as an investor, co-owner, and an active ambassador to help grow the game we all love,” said Acuña. His involvement will undoubtedly inspire a new generation of baseball fans in regions where the sport is still growing.
