FC Barcelona have put up a price tag of a £94 million on Ousmane Dembele as Liverpool are reportedly preparing a transfer bid for their target winger.
The 22-year-old arrived from Borussia Dortmund in 2017 and has made 42 appearances in all competitions for Barça during the 2018-19 season, along with scoring 14 goals and 8 assists.
Klopp is eager to bring the Frenchman to Anfield, and according to Team Talk Barca is expecting the the initial fee they paid to Dortmund, of around £ 93m.
Blaugrana’s president Josep Maria Bartomeu said “It’s not possible for Neymar to come to Barcelona as we have another sporting project with Dembele and Philippe Coutinho. We are happy with what we have.” during his speech with the Spanish television station TVE.
“Dembele is a good professional player. He is a young guy who arrived at a huge club and that’s not easy, but he has adapted and he is much better than Neymar.” he added.
Reds legend John Aldridge addressed on the transfer during his interview with The Sunday World.
“With Sturridge leaving the club and his huge wages coming off the weekly bill, it opens up the opportunity for Klopp to sign an out-and-out goalscorer who could offer something different if one of the front three is injured or out of form” he added.
