While the entire world has been fighting against the COVID-19 pandemic and sporting events are yet to begin, talented Bangladesh fast bowler Mohammad Saifuddin has added some spice for everyone. He has thrown up an interesting challenge to his teammate and one of the best cricketers that Bangladesh has ever produced, Shakib Al Hasan.
With cricket activities on a standstill due to the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic all over the world, cricketers coming to the live sessions to interact with the fans or throwing challenges to their teammates have become a norm. Joining the list, Saifuddin took to his verified Facebook account and also challenged Shakib Al Hasan to score 22 runs off his two overs.
“Today I threw a challenge towards Shakib bhai. I will bowl two overs and Shakib bhai needs to at least score 22 runs. Interestingly, Shakib bhai has already accepted my challenge,” Mohammad Saifuddin wrote in his Facebook post.
“Even though Shakib bhai has more followers than me, I am still seeking prayers for me. I will celebrate the return of Shakib bhai in a few days after cricket returns following the coronavirus halt,” further added Mohammad Saifuddin.
আজকে সাকিব ভাই কে একটা চ্যালেঞ্জ অফার করলাম। আমি ২ ওভার বোলিং করবো এবং সাকিব ভাইকে ২২ রান নিতে হবে। মজার বিষয় হলো…
Shakib Al Hasan is currently serving a ban for a year for his failure to report the alleged spot-fixing cases asked by the bookies twice. However, the all-rounder recently spoke about the whole incident during a chat with Harsha Bhogle on CricBuzz where he said that he took the approach made by the corruptors very casually, and also shared that had he not told the ICC Anti-Corruption unit the entire incident, he would have been banned for nearly 5 or 10 years.
“I took the approaches too casually. When I met the anti-corruption guy and told them and they knew everything,” Shakib Al Hasan was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz.
“Gave them all the evidence and they knew everything that happened… To be honest, that’s the only reason I was banned for a year, otherwise, I’d have been banned for five or 10 years.” he further added.
