Bangladesh cricketer Mashrafe Mortaza recovers from Covid-19

Former Bangladesh captain Mashrafe Mortaza has recovered from COVID-19 after treatment at home. He has been declared positive by the virus on June 20 an since then he was under the medication and treatment. He shared the good news of the negative result of his COVID-19 test on his official Facebook page on Tuesday.

“Hope everyone is fine. By the grace of God and blessing of everyone, I have tested negative for coronavirus. I am thankful to everyone who stood by me and showed concern in this tough times,” he wrote.

“I recovered from the virus after being treated at home. To those who are affected, stay positive. Keep faith in Allah and abide by the rules. Together we will keep fighting the virus,” further added the 36-year-old speedster.

However, his wife Sumona Haque has not been recovered from the deadly disease yet.

While sharing her news, Mashrafe Mortaza wrote, “But two weeks after being diagnosed, my wife is still positive for coronavirus. She is doing well, keep her in your prayers.”

Mashrafe Mortaza is a Member of Parliament and he represents the ruling Awami League party ass well. However, he is not the only player affected by this global pandemic. Two other Bangladeshi players — Nafees Iqbal and Nazmul Islam — have also been affected by the COVID-19 and they have recovered from the virus after treatment at home.

Like Mashrafe Mortaza, both the Bangladesh players had also tested positive for the virus three weeks ago. Meanwhile, many other player have also been tested positive so far which included former India opener, Chetan Chauhan, former Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi, Fakhar Zaman, Pakistan opener, young pace bowler Hasnain and a few as well.

The global pandemic has brought the entire wor into a standstill which has postponed every sporting event across the globe. However, the situation in some places have been returning into the old form and England have hosted their first series against West Indies. Later they will take on Pakistan as well.
