You must wear a mask: NSW Health Minister
In a press conference, he spoke about the protocols that need to be followed by the spectators. They must wear masks all the time from the transport to reach to the stadium until they are seated in their respective seats.
He said, “You must wear a mask. From the moment you effectively get into the transport to get there, and get into the queue at the front door of the SCG, and go to your seat, and sit in your seat, you must wear a mask. The only exception to that, if you’re eating or drinking.”
The recent spike in cases of COVID-19 in Sydney has compelled the Australian cricket board to cut down the capacity at SCG from fifty to twenty-five per cent for the upcoming match.
The wearing masks in indoor public spaces was made mandatory in Sydney on Sunday and a fine of A$200 ($155) would be imposed if anyone breaches the protocol.
Certain parts of Sydney have virus-risk on the higher side and residents of that area have been banned from attending the match and two more suburbs were added as well on Wednesday.
Hazzard said, “Again, the (health) orders that will be made today will impose a A$1,000 fine on any person who was in that location and who seeks to come to the SCG.”
With the series currently square at 1-1, India would face Australia in the third test match from January 7 onwards at SCG.
