The Indian shooting team of Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar, Swapnil Kusale and Akhil Sheoran concluded their campaign at the ongoing Asian Games with a gold in the men’s 50m rifle 3P team event at the Hangzhou Olympic Sports Centre on Friday.

In addition to the historic feat, the trio also set a new world record after achieving a cumulative 1769 points, eight more than the previous WR which was set by the United States team at the CAT championships last year.

Both Swapnil and Aishwary clocked 591 cumulative points to finish first and second respectively in the qualification event for the final set to take place later today, while Akhil, even though ranked fifth in individual rankings, failed to make the cut, as only two shooters from each country can take part in the final.
