The most anticipating ICC World cup is less than a month away. It is scheduled to take place from 30th May 2019 in England and Wales.
Now, former Indian fast bowler, Ashish Nehra has named India’s biggest asset ahead of the world cup. According to Nehra, current Indian seamer Mohammad Sami is going to play a very important role in the upcoming world cup.
Mohammad Shami has been on a tremendous form recently, he showed his bowling prowess in the recently concluded New Zealand series which India won 4-1. In this series, Sami was named Man of the Series. He was the leading wicket-taker for India having taken nine wickets in four ODI matches.
“Mohammed Shami has been really impressive, not just in this series and today’s game but for the last year and year-and-half. From South Africa tour I would say. Test cricket, he bowled really well. Bowled long spells. His fitness has been really really impressive,” Nehra was quoted as saying by CricketNext.
“He is going to be a big asset for India,” Nehra added.
Shami is currently in the Indian ODI squad against Australia. Indian skipper Virat Kohli was also all praise for the Indian seamer as on Sunday he called Shami as the ‘lean mean pace machine’.
