Mesut Özil and Sead Kolašinac, who are on the headlines following the carjacking incident last month, are now under 24 hour guard, as several threats have been targeting the players.
The duo were left out of Arsenal’s Premier League opener against Newcastle, and have been under tight security as the players fear about their and their families’ safety.
“We’ll rob you of everything”: an anonymous threat, presumed to be one of the thugs who attacked Özil’s car back in July, have frightened the German midfielder as he has stationed two guards outside his house at Hampstead Heath, while Kolašinac’s wife Bella has flown to Germany.
Two Men were arrested last Friday outside the 30 year old German international’s home, as Metropolitan Police released a statement. A similar incident was also reported to have happened near the Bosnian’s home.
‘Ferhat Ercan, 27, and Salaman Ekinci, 27, were charged on 9 August following the incident and are due to appear at Highbury Corner magistrates’ court on 6 September.’ the statement read.
A couple of weeks ago, two masked goons on mopeds charged on Özil’s G-wagon with knives, but with a heroic stance Kolašinac fought them off. The Gunners teammates were reported unharmed after the event near a Turkish restaurant in Golders Green.
A CCTV footage was released on Twitter. Check it out below-

Unless all the perpetrators are identified and arrested and the players are assured of their own safety, fans will have to wait to see Özil and Kolašinac on field again this season.
