Lacazette wants to give his best for Arsenal regardless of it probably being his last match for them

Alexandre Lacazette is on a tug-of-war. Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are tussling over the Arsenal star to secure his services but the player is not worrying about it. In an exclusive interview with Standard Sport, the player revealed that his primary concern remains to perform well for Arsenal ahead of their clash against Chelsea.

“For me, I just think about the final, then after we will see with the club.”

The 28-year-old is at his peak and wants to deliver at that level constantly.

“If the club is really happy with me and I’m happy, I will stay. In France, they say 27, 28 is one of the best ages in your career. I wish it is not the last [good season] at Arsenal and I hope I will be better and better in the next years.”

When asked to choose between Wenger and Lacazette, the Frenchman chose the latter as the Spaniard helped him hone his skills.

“I play more with Unai and have more confidence with him. Even if I can just say ‘thank you’ to Wenger because he brought me into this big club, but I feel better with Unai.”
