Chelsea F.C. are at a loss of words really. Not just words but they’re at a loss of goals and most importantly at a loss of victories and games to spare before a top 4 slips away from right beneath them. Arsenal seem to be wanting a top 4 spot more than their neighbors and that’s what their 2-0 victory in the derby suggested.
This was Unai Emery said, a game that Arsenal could not afford to lose if they were to stay in touch with the top four and it will have worried Maurizio Sarri just how little his team ever looked like winning it. They have lost four of their last nine league games now, just three points better off in fourth place than both Arsenal and Manchester United who are divided by goal difference, and Chelsea badly in need of the goals they hope their new Argentinian striker, Gonzalo Higuain will bring.
The first goal was all Lacazette – the Frenchman controlled the ball in the box beautifully before blasting the ball past Kepa from an angle that only a handful of strikers would fancy. Alonso and other defenders could do nothing to stop Lacazette from taking Arsenal one-nil up.
Sokratis’ mishit of a shot came straight to Koscielny in the box who fluffed his header but the ball hit his shoulder and found its way into the net a few minutes before the half time whistle.
Emery after the game : “This victory can help us to be optimistic, with this victory we can be do game by game are like today.”
