Unai Emery fumes over Laurent Koscielny’s attitude as the Gunners hierarchy have put the club captain up for transfer this window, following his recent refusal to join the club on their pre-season tour.
The 33 year old has a year left on his current contract, which is worth £90,000 per week, and Arsenal rejected a request from the centre-back to release him from the final 12 months.
Arsenal has condemned the Frenchman’s actions in an official statement.
The statement read: ‘We are very disappointed by Laurent’s actions, which are against our clear instructions.
“Laurent Koscielny has refused to travel to the US for our pre-season tour.”
“We hope to resolve this matter and will not be providing any further comment at this time.”
His agent, Stephane Courbis, said in May: ‘We will take some thinking time, we will meet with the club at the end of the season. He will will also make up his own mind.’
Lyon, Bordeaux and Rennes are among the clubs interested in signing Koscielny. However, Arsenal are yet to receive a formal offer for their club captain.
Bordeaux have reportedly offered Koscielny a three year deal, but the Ligue 1 side are yet to make an official deal.
