The Indian contingent saw one final and one semifinal berth secured at the ongoing Archery World Cup Stage One on Thursday in Antalya, courtesy of the men’s recurve team entering the final round, as well as Jyothi Surekha Vennam reaching the compound last four stage.

The fourth ranked triplet of Atanu Das, B. Dhiraj and Tarundeep Rai, who got a bye in the opening round, thrashed The Netherlands 6-2 in the semifinal round to book their summit clash ticket.

They had earlier beaten Japan 5-4 (29-28), followed by a 6-2 win over Taiwan. Their opponent in the final will be the second seeded Chinese team on Sunday.

Meanwhile, ace archer Jyothi continued her consistent performance to secure her entry into the compound women’s semifinal, defeating Tanja Gellenthien of Denmark 147-142 to secure her last four berth.

Earlier, she marked victories over Switzerland’s Myriam Hasler (145-137), USA’s Danelle Lutz (145-141) and Mexico’s Ana Sofia Hernandez Jeon (145-138). Jyothi semifinal outing will be against the three-time world Cup gold medallist Brit, Ella Gibson, on Saturday.
