MOC approves Deepika Kumari’s training in Korea

Coming off a recent silver medal win at the World Cup in Shanghai, Deepika’s performance has not only reaffirmed her status as a top contender but also reinducted her into the Target Olympic Podium Scheme (TOPS) core group.

For 13 days, Deepika will train at the renowned Kim Archery School, a facility known for producing world-class archers. This intensive training period is expected to provide her with the technical refinement and mental fortitude required to excel in high-pressure situations.

The Mission Olympic Cell (MOC) has approved financial assistance for Deepika’s training, covering expenses such as airfare, boarding, lodging, and local transport. This support underscores the importance of her mission and the nation’s commitment to her success.

Post-training, Deepika will head to Antalya for the final qualifiers beginning on June 14. This event is crucial as it represents the last opportunity for archers to secure their spots for the Paris Olympics.

Deepika’s preparation involves not just physical training but also strategic planning and psychological readiness. With the backing of the sports ministry and the nation’s hopes, the expectations are high for her to deliver a performance that secures her place at the Paris Games.
