Ambati Rayudu’s cryptic tweet against the selectors grabbed a lot of eyeballs. Rayudu seemed destined to board the flight to England for the world cup with even Virat Kohli admitting that Raydu is the ideal solution for the number four woes that India was dealing with.
However, Rayudu was taken by surprise when eventually it was Vijay Shankar’s all-around ability that gave him an upper-hand and led to Rayudu’s exclusion from the squad.
The chairman of the selection committee MSK Prasad justified Shankar’s selection by calling him a three-dimensional player, which led to Rayudu posting the following tweet:
Rayudu’s dig at the selection committee did manage to catch the attention of the BCCI Officials, however, the Chennai Superkings batsman is fortunate that the board is not contemplating on taking an action against him for publically taking a jibe at the committee.
A BCCI official claimed that they have taken note of Rayudu’s tweet and understand that Rayudu’s emotions are running high as he must be disappointed after being left out.
He also added that there should not be any need of any sanctions and Rayudu still is one of the stand-by players and can be called up in case someone gets injured.
