Indian Test Cricket Team Vice-Captain Ajinkya Rahane has been in and out of the Indian squad when it comes to limited overs cricket. In order to escalate his game, Rahane has broken onto the English County scenario.

Rahane debuted for his side Hamshire when they took on Nottinghamshire in a Division One match, and he could not have asked for a better debut for himself as he ended up scoring a marvellous century.

The other Indian cricketers who have achieved a comparable feat in the past include Murli Vijay and Piyush Chawla, both of them too scored a ton when they first showed up for their respective county sides.

Rahane, however, was not the rosiest as he was departed for a paltry score of 10 runs in the first innings. The elegant batsman showed character when he walked in to bat in the second innings as he struck 119 runs off 260 balls out of which he sent 14 deliveries outside the fence.

Matthew Carten finally dismissed Rahne to put an end to his marathon innings. He came to an end after coming into bat at number 3 position and capitalized on the opportunity that was provided to him.
