Ajax skipper Matthijs de Ligt has agreed personal terms with Juventus offer, which will land the Dutch teenager €12 million a year, according to Sky Sport Italia.
The Serie A champions have also reportedly activated the release clause for the 19-year old, which is somewhere around €150 million.
Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United all had their eyes on the Dutch starlet this summer, but the Old Lady are already about to begin talks with the Eredivise champions.
However, Erik ten Hag will likely look for a fee in the region of €83 million for de Ligt.
The Dutch teenager will be the first signing for new Juve boss Maurizio Sarri, who arrived at Turin this month from Chelsea.
Fabio Capello, Ex-Juventus and England boss, has hailed de Ligt’s performance.
“De Ligt is the best defender out there. He allows you to defend with two, freeing up the full-backs, like he has at Ajax.”
“If Juve sign De Ligt, then it’s over. Again. And we go directly to the season after,” the 73-year-old Italian said.
“With him, Juve will have hit the jackpot. Without him, well, it could help the others get closer. Let me be clear. When I talk about others, I’m referring exclusively to Napoli and Inter [Milan].”
“[AC] Milan, Roma and Lazio won’t participate in the title race for obvious technical delays and financial problems.”
