The team, fondly known as the Blue Tigresses, has been camping in Hyderabad, preparing for the upcoming games. The squad was initially a list of 30 probables, which was narrowed down to 23 by head coach Langam Chaoba Devi.

The selected squad is a mix of experienced players and young talent. The goalkeepers are Shreya Hooda, Maibam Linthoingambi Devi, and Moirangthem Monalisha Devi. The defenders include Loitongbam Ashalata Devi, Sanju, Hemam Shilky Devi, Juli Kishan, Astam Oraon, Aruna Bag, Sorokhaibam Ranjana Chanu, and Wangkhem Linthoingambi Devi.

The midfielders are Karthika Angamuthu, Kaviya, Naorem Priyangka Devi, Neha, Sandhiya Ranganathan, Sangita Basfore, Soumya Guguloth, and Anju Tamang. The forwards include Kajol D’Souza, Karishma Shirvoikar, Pyari Xaxa, and Serto Lynda Kom.

Earlier this year, the Blue Tigresses had finished runners-up in the Turkish Women’s Cup, behind Kosovo, in a quadrangular tournament that also featured Estonia and Hong Kong. The team will be looking to build on their previous performance and gain valuable experience from the upcoming friendlies against Uzbekistan.

These matches are crucial for the team’s preparation for future tournaments. They provide an opportunity for the players to gain international exposure and for the coaching staff to assess the team’s performance against strong opponents.
