Amul, a leading dairy brand from India, has been announced as the official sponsor of the Sri Lanka men’s cricket team for the upcoming T20 World Cup. This sponsorship comes after Amul’s recent associations with the South African and USA cricket teams, marking a significant expansion of the brand’s involvement in international cricket.

Amul Partners with another team at the T20 World Cup

Amul’s association with cricket began in 2011 with the Netherlands cricket team and has since grown to include various international teams in numerous ICC events. The brand’s global presence extends to the USA, where Amul milk is now available for purchase.

The sponsorship of the Sri Lanka cricket team is seen as an excellent move by Amul, as associating with an international sports brand is expected to help the firm gain market growth and further enhance its brand visibility among the international audience. The CEO of Sri Lanka Cricket, Mr. Ashley De Silva, expressed his optimism about the partnership, stating that it would benefit both parties.

Amul’s sponsorship of the South African cricket team, known as the Proteas, has also been well-received. The brand was featured on the leading sleeve of the Proteas’ World Cup playing kit during the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023. The CSA Chief Executive Officer, Pholetsi Moseki, expressed excitement about the ongoing partnership with Amul for the upcoming T20 World Cup.

In the USA, Amul has been named the Lead Arm sponsor of the men’s national cricket team for the highly anticipated ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024. The USA cricket team, which will make its debut appearance in this global championship as one of the co-hosts, has recently emerged victorious against Canada, showcasing their potential in the cricketing arena.
